Two lucky savers became millionaires overnight after winning the £1 million jackpot in the May 2026 Premium Bonds draw. The winners, one from Suffolk and another from the Scottish Highlands, purchased their winning bonds in January 2024 and September 2025, respectively.

Key statistics from the draw:

The total number of prizes distributed was 5,947,523.

The total value of prizes amounted to £376,180,825.

The odds of winning any prize stood at 23,000 to 1 for each £1 saved in Premium Bonds.

The prize fund rate was set at 3.3%.

Winners can check their results starting from May 2 using the Premium Bonds prize checker app or the NS&I website. Over 99% of prizes have been successfully paid to winners since the draws began in 1957.

In this latest draw, there were also 17,682 prizes worth between £1,000 and £100,000 distributed. The smallest prize amount awarded was £25, while the largest reached £1 million.

Officials from NS&I expressed excitement over the new millionaire winners. They noted that Premium Bonds do not accrue interest; instead, they function as a monthly cash lottery for bondholders.
