Davy Litten to join Wakefield Trinity from Hull FC next season on four-year contract

Wakefield Trinity has announced the signing of Davy Litten from Hull FC, with the centre set to join the club at the conclusion of the 2026 season. Litten has agreed to a four-year contract with Wakefield, a move that will see him remain with the club until the end of the 2030 season. The transfer follows a request from the player, with Hull FC confirming they accepted a significant six-figure transfer fee from the West Yorkshire side.

Wakefield Trinity described the transfer fee as substantial, though the exact figure was not disclosed. Litten, who is 23 years old, expressed his enthusiasm for the move, stating his gratitude for the opportunity to join what he described as a great club. He highlighted his excitement about the direction the club is taking both on and off the field.

Litten’s Impact and Future Role

Litten’s arrival is expected to bolster Wakefield Trinity‘s backline. The club currently sits third in the Super League table. He will join a squad that includes international players such as Tom Johnstone and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, alongside young talents like Oliver Pratt, Corey Hall, and Jayden Myers.

Wakefield Trinity Head Coach Daryl Powell shared his delight regarding Litten’s signing, noting that the player will become part of one of the competition’s youngest and most exciting backlines. Powell praised Litten’s youth, drive, physicality, and will to win, anticipating that he will develop into one of the premier backline players in the coming years.

Ste Mills, Trinity’s Director of Rugby, also commented on the signing, calling Litten a fantastic addition that aligns with the club’s recruitment strategy. Mills indicated that as soon as Litten became available, the club moved quickly to secure his services. He emphasized Litten’s athletic build and the “X-factor” he is expected to bring to the backline, creating a sense of energy around the club’s ongoing development.

Career at Hull FC

Litten, an academy graduate born in Hull, has made 68 appearances for Hull FC since his senior debut in 2022. His first appearance was against Trinity. At the beginning of the 2025 season, Litten secured the number three jersey for Hull, going on to make 42 appearances in that position over the past two seasons.

Hull FC confirmed Litten’s departure at the end of the 2026 Betfred Super League season. The club extended their best wishes to Litten for his future in the sport and expressed hope that he would conclude his time at the club positively during the remaining weeks of 2026.

Litten’s move to Wakefield Trinity for the 2027 season marks a significant change in his career trajectory, as he transitions from his hometown club to a new challenge in West Yorkshire. He is set to begin his four-year contract with Wakefield in 2027.
