Arsenal midfielder Myles Lewis-Skelly has reportedly been offered to Manchester United as a potential left-back option. This development comes as Arsenal aims to recover some of the £75m spent on Bruno Guimarães.
Chelsea has also been made aware of the 19-year-old‘s availability. Lewis-Skelly, who secured the Premier League title with Arsenal last season, made five league starts and 36 appearances across all competitions in the 2025-26 season. He signed a five-year contract last summer, and his potential transfer fee is estimated to be around £45m.
Interest from Manchester United and Chelsea
Manchester United has shown long-term interest in Lewis-Skelly. The club is currently evaluating whether to pursue another midfielder or a left-back before the transfer deadline. This summer, United has already invested significantly, with Youri Tielemans joining for £35m from Aston Villa and Andrey Santos arriving for £48m plus £2m in add-ons from Chelsea.
Despite the interest, Arsenal is reportedly reluctant to sell Lewis-Skelly to a direct rival, particularly a team they might compete with for top positions this season. Chelsea had previously been linked with the player in January.
Newcastle‘s Lewis Hall remains a primary target for United. Chelsea has been active in the transfer market this summer, spending over £300m on new acquisitions. These include Maxence Lacroix and Marco Palestra to strengthen the central and right defence, respectively. Morgan Rogers became the club’s record signing at £117m. The club has a vacancy on the left side of their defence following Marc Cucurella’s £52m transfer to Real Madrid. Lewis-Skelly’s Future at Arsenal
Lewis-Skelly is reportedly focused on remaining at Arsenal and securing a regular place in Mikel Arteta’s first-team plans for the upcoming season. The Arsenal academy graduate is not actively seeking a move away, despite the external interest.
He has been a regular starter for Arsenal during pre-season, and the club is not actively looking to sell the England international. However, there is an understanding that some departures may be necessary before the transfer window closes, and the club might need to be flexible with its plans.
Lewis-Skelly has been with Arsenal since he was eight years old and broke into the first team during the 2024-25 season.
