Istanbul Expands Late-Night Marmaray Services to Enhance Mobility

istanbul — GB news

Istanbul’s Marmaray service has expanded its late-night operations to seven days a week, starting this Sunday. The additional departures will leave Gebze at 11:20 p.m. and from Halkalı at 11:28 p.m., addressing the growing demand for late-night travel in the city.

The adjustment was expected to address increasing passenger demand and improve late-night mobility across the city. Istanbul’s public transportation network is evolving to meet the needs of its residents, particularly those who require access during off-peak hours.

Meanwhile, maritime traffic in the Istanbul Strait resumed after being temporarily halted due to a mechanical failure on the dry cargo vessel Zaltron. The ship, measuring 185 meters in length, experienced an engine malfunction off Kurucesme but was safely anchored by the Istanbul Vessel Traffic Services Center.

Separately, John Stones has announced his plans to conclude his time with Manchester City this summer. He has made significant contributions to the team’s success, notably during a UEFA Champions League final, where he completed the most dribbles since Lionel Messi in 2015. Stones previously played for Everton, making 95 appearances and scoring once against Manchester United.

Stones reflected on his football career, stating, “I remember my dad saying there was training with a local team on a Wednesday night… I just loved to play football from there on.” Despite facing challenges last season that led him to consider stepping away from the game, he remains an influential figure in English football.

As Istanbul continues to enhance its public infrastructure, many observers are keenly watching how these changes will impact both local residents and visitors. The city’s commitment to improving late-night services is a promising development for urban mobility.
